From the wording on the coins it looks like your holding some very nice Bezants.

OK, I bite!

Both are Byzantines.

Bad new is that I cannot read the second one, except the mintmark (CONOB), means that it was minted in Constantinople.

The first one is, most probably, a solidus from the emperor Phocas (602-10 AD)

http://www.wegm.com/coins/phocas.htm

the legend is something like:

(DN FO)CAS PERP AVG = Dominus Nostrum (=our master) FOCAS Perpetual emperor

VICTORIA AVG (???) = representation of the divinity of victory

CONOB = Constinople

Hope that helps!

(sorry I'm more interested in Roman coins...)

BTW, the second one could eventually be from the emperor Zeno

http://www.wildwinds.com/coins/ric/zeno/i.html

Or, Anastasius

http://www.wildwinds.com/coins/byz/anastasius/t.html

Or Justin I

http://www.wildwinds.com/coins/byz/justin_I/t.html

Or Constantine IV

http://www.wildwinds.com/coins/byz/c...tine_IV/t.html

The letering style is (at least from what I've seen on Roman coins) suspect, and your coin could eventually be a barbarous copy of an official coin, similar to this one:
